鳥兵(Torihei)-Yakitori Izakaya-
After the sauna, it’s time for a meal! It is said that our senses are heightened after relaxing in the sauna, so the meal after the sauna is truly delicious!! This time, I will introduce a special restaurant that is located near Koganeyu!!
First of all, Kinshicho, where Koganeyu is located, is a battleground for izakayas (Japanese-style pubs)! As you walk around, you will find tempting izakayas here and there. ↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓
Among the many tempting shops, I spotted a noren curtain radiating an especially delicious aura. ↓↓↓↓
This is the yakitori izakaya I will introduce today, “鳥平(Torihei)“!!!!
I have decided that this will be my sauna meal for today!! I will also provide a Google Maps link below.
Located just a 2-minute walk from Kinshicho Station, it’s an incredibly convenient location! You don’t have to worry about missing the last train.
This place is an izakaya with yakitori as its main specialty, and it mainly consists of counter seats in a small restaurant. The prices are very reasonable, and it’s the perfect place to savor Japanese yakitori.
If possible, I recommend sitting at the counter seats where you can experience the true essence of a yakitori restaurant!
Upon entering the shop, despite it being a weekday evening, it’s almost fully packed!!!!
You can feel that it’s loved by the locals. The atmosphere at the counter truly captures the essence of a Japanese izakaya.
The seating is close to the neighboring customers, creating a lively and vibrant atmosphere.
↑↑↑↑Potato salad is a staple menu item in Japanese izakayas.
It’s fun to see how the taste can vary from one shop to another.
Although the portion size may be small, the prices are generally affordable, allowing you to order a variety of dishes.
↑↑↑↑This is basashi, which is thinly sliced raw horse meat.
Basashi is famous in the Kyushu region of Japan, but you can also find it outside of Kyushu. It’s not available everywhere, so if you’re curious, I highly recommend trying it!
It doesn’t have any gamey taste at all.
↑↑Hamukatsu is a dish where thick slices of ham are breaded and deep-fried, similar to tonkatsu (breaded and deep-fried pork cutlet).
It may not have the elegance of high-end cuisine, but it is incredibly delicious!
Its deliciousness leaves no room for complaints.
And it pairs perfectly with beer!! Please enjoy it by drizzling the accompanying sauce over it.
↑↑Here is the main attraction, yakitori!!! This one is tsukune (chicken meatball).
The grilling of the yakitori here is simply exquisite!! You can experience the authentic taste of yakitori here.
Since there is no English menu, if you’re unsure, I recommend trying the omakase-style.(Chef’s recommendation) Simply order “Yakitori Omakase” and they should understand.
It might also be a good idea to order any menu item that looks delicious based on what other people are ordering. Customers at this type of izakaya are generally easygoing and open to trying new things. Feel free to give it a try!
I was actually so engrossed in talking about the greatness of Koganeyu with my friends that I hardly took any photos of the dishes.
The route from Koganeyu to Torihei is highly recommended!
The feeling of relaxation after the sauna and the satisfying fullness from the delicious food… How would the night view of the Tokyo Skytree appear to all of you while being filled with this sense of happiness?
I encourage you to experience it firsthand and find out for yourselves!
